Q1 2021 Social Networking App Trends in the UK

In the first quarter of 2021, the UK's social networking scene saw interesting shifts among the top applications on the unified platform. Sensor Tower's data presents us with a clear view of how these apps have fared during this period.

BIGO LIVE-Live Stream, Go Live experienced fluctuating revenue starting at approximately $185K and peaking at $237K before settling around $200K by the end of the quarter. Downloads showed a downward trend from 22K to 19K, while weekly active users grew from 120K to a peak of 133K and then slightly decreased to 132K.

Plenty of Fish Dating App saw its revenue begin at around $91K, reaching over $100K mid-quarter, and ending at about $106K. The app's downloads remained fairly stable, hovering in the 14K-16K range, even as weekly active users slightly declined from 220K to 197K.

Facebook maintained a steady revenue between $151K and $186K throughout the quarter. Despite being a mature app, it managed to keep its downloads above 100K, with an increase in weekly active users from 38.9M to a peak of 39.1M before a slight drop to 38.6M.

Yubo : Make new friends showed a decrease in revenue from $96K to $71K before climbing back up to $86K. Downloads started strong at 34K but saw a decrease to 22K by the end of the quarter. However, the app's weekly active users grew significantly from 433K to 531K, indicating a growing user base.

Lastly, Azar - Video Chat exhibited a declining revenue trend from $114K to around $72K, with a slight increase to $76K in the final week. Downloads showed an overall downward trend from 11K to approximately 5K, and weekly active users decreased from 78K to 60K.
